1 Month Film Jam (Filming Saturday 25th April)

London Film Jam has been an incredible success, with over 200 films completed in over 3 years! It has been a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and work together on many projects, learning new skills along the way. For everyone who has been involved, it has been a great opportunity to see their ideas actually come alive and get shown to a ‘proper’ audience. A few films have now been accepted into festivals!!

The 1 Month Film Jam is the next level and will be your opportunity to really show off your skills and help with collabarating to make an accomplished short. And even if you don’t have a specific role, you will still be able to help out with some of the many things getting film made needs. Add that to your portfolio!

On the first day everyone will meet upstairs at The Hercules to initially talk and get to know each other. We will then will divide everyone into teams and reveal the theme and the mystery location. You will all then have 1 month to make a cracking good film!

As soon as you can please create exclusive WhatsApp groups for these projects, and start fleshing out the storyline, shooting schedule etc. Please stick to your role allocation in terms of actors, writers, camera, director, producer, etc. Remember the theme and mystery location will be revealed on the day!

Also, please don’t think that because you are working on one project it excludes you from helping with others. You can be involved in as many as you wish (but dont get greedy!)

The structure of the whole month will then be as follows:

11th April - 'The 11 am Start' - Meet everyone, join a team, get started on the film.

18th April - 'Location Visit' - 2 people from each team will visit the mystery location to check it out.

25th April - 'Filming Day' - Each team will get an allocated time to film at the mystery location.

10th May (SUNDAY) - 'The 1pm Screening' - Screening and Social at Cold Harbour Blue Cinema, Brixton. Please submit your films before 10.30am so we can check if it will be acceptable to play (if you can transfer via wetransfer then it should be ok)

The effectiveness of joining this group is that you no longer have to procrastinate and you’ll be able to make films. If this is something you want to make a career out of then you’ll be able to add this to your portfolio.

Screening will be at Cold Harbour Blue Cinema, 259-260 Hardess Street, Loughborough Junction, London,SE24 0HN

The structural integrity of the original idea must be respected and anyone who joins a particular project to develop the story must stay true to it.

Film Length must be a MAXIMUM of 10 mins

Please keep the weekend of the 25th April free for filming.

You must have completed a 1 Month Jam (this event) in the previous 12 months to take part in the 2 Month Jam

I'll be using all money raised to pay for the mystery location and anything left over will be spent on Film Jam. To help me keep track of the different roles people want there are different tickets depending on what you would like to do. Please only buy the relevent ticket for the role you want!! It really helps with the running of the Jam.
