SciPubCreate: Synaesthesia

The City of Hobart has provided us support to bring you Synaesthesia: An exploration through personal experience and artistic interpretation.
We will be joined by a studied psychologist who herself experiences a form of the neurological phenomenon synaesthesia and will share how this has shaped her life and learning. Our other two speakers are musician and sound designer Hayato Simpson and visual artist Bernie O'Keeffe. They will talk through the creative process and technical details behind their original collaboration project Synaesthesia - created specifically for Science in the Pub. This is a rare opportunity to understand how science and technology can aid artistic expression, both in inspiration and technical delivery.
The second half of the event will feature the first ever live performance of Synaesthesia by the artists themselves. They will take you on an audio-visual journey inspired by the neurological phenomenon, and you can see how the intricate details of their explained process manifest into collective beauty.
Talks will start roughly at 1pm. Performance will start at 3pm.
