We will make a lovely scenic loop of the famous Mourne Mountains. Meeting in the Synge & Byrne Coffee shop off the main car park in Kilbroney Forest Park in Rostrevor at 11 amWe will proceed to Spelga Dam, which is known for its scenic beauty and the ‘magic road’ phenomenon, where cars appear to roll uphill!
We will then go on to Newcastle and park in the Donard Park car park and have lunch at the Avoca Hotel around 1 pm, and then have time to explore the seafront promenade and local shops. At 3 pm, we will continue our clockwise loop along the Irish Sea coast to Annalong, where we will go inland again to the Silent Valley Reservoir, where some may like to take a short walk.
