Join our Woodland Trust Northern Ireland volunteer Jon Morrison for a guided walk of Mourne Park's fascinating Second World War history.
Discover some of Mourne Park's fascinating WWII history, when a tank regiment of American soldiers was stationed there from 1942 - 1944. Only the bases of their Nissan huts are visible today, along with names carved into beech trees.
The tour will uncover some clues to the past, hidden in the ancient woodland and tell you what it was like to be based here during the second world war.
The tour will set off from the Woodland Trust Mourne Park car park and will cover 2 miles. Please come prepared for the weather and with sturdy footwear as the paths can be muddy.
