QJ- Quilted Jacket – March 21, 2026 & April 25, 2026 – 12N- 5P
Create your own unique Quilted jacket using a sweatshirt as your pattern. Customizing options to add
accent collar, pockets, extra sleeve length and jacket length will be available. Pre-class planning and
decisions on jacket style will be required prior to the class including fabric choices of main, accent and lining
fabrics as well as your option choices. Essential knowledge of your sewing machine, use of walking foot or
dual feed, quilting technique, topstitching and binding are required.
The first class will be preparing your
sweatshirt patterns, cutting your option pieces and preparing your jacket layers using 505 Adhesive Fabric
Spray to machine quilt for homework. The second class will be the jacket construction. It is essential to arrive
with all supplies, fabrics and decisions regarding options ready to start the class. Please reach out with any
questions prior to class so you are prepared! You will have a beautiful jacket that reflects your creative style
and love for quilting!
Supplies:
-Sweatshirt- 2 sizes larger for loose fit and allow for shrinkage due to quilting and/or washing. (If you choose
to prewash you must also prewash your fabric)
- Fabric: Main 2 1/2 yds, Lining 2 1/2 yds, Accent Options 1/2 yd, Binding 1/3 yd
-505 Adhesive Fabric Spray &; 505 Glue stick
-Water soluble Marking pen
-Thread (Desired colors for construction, quilting, topstitching and binding)
-Ruler 6 1/2” X 24”
-Lg Cutting Mat
-Rotary Cutter/ Sewing Scissors
-Sewing Machine Needles- Size 80
- Sewing Clips and pins
- Dual Feed or Walking Foot, Edging Foot (Bernina #10), 1/4" Foot, binding foot optional
- Best Press or similar spray if desired
-Patterns for collar and pocket will be provided
-Iron (Use class iron or can bring your own)

Each student and teacher must have a separate and original copy of the book, pattern or tool if required for a class as per the supply list. Quilt With Passion will respectfully decline any request to make photocopies unless permission is granted from the designer for a specific purpose.
Class Cancellation/Make-Up Information: If you must cancel a class, please do so at least 7 days before the start of the class. Refunds for these cancellations will be issued in the form of a Quilt With Passion store credit. Store credit may also be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of class if the space is filled by another student. If a class is missed, make up classes may be held at a Sewing School or by arrangements with the instructor to sit in on another class. Make ups must be held within two months of the original class.
