58km for Yvette: Running for Breast Cancer Awareness
Date: Saturday, 3rd October
Starting Point: Aveley Parkrun (5km), then continuing to complete 58km total

3 years ago, I lost one of my dearest friends, Yvette.
She was just one of those beautiful people. Kind, caring, funny and fiercely devoted to her family. She had a strength that inspired everyone who knew her.
To know Yvette was simply to love her.💕
For a long time, she kept a lump to herself as she was scared. By the time she was diagnosed, the cancer had already spread.
Yvette once said she wished she could do something to help others understand the importance of early detection.
Every day in Australia, 58 people hear the words, "You have breast cancer." If this run encourages even one person to check themselves or book an appointment sooner, then we've honoured Yvette in the most meaningful way possible.
This isn't just a 58km run.
It's a community event.
It's about starting conversations that could save lives.
It's about reminding ourselves, and our loved ones (men and women) to check their breasts, know what's normal for them, and never ignore a change.

Small conversations can make a life-changing difference. I kick myself every day I never had it with Yvette.
