Greetings Cape Town. Boy, do we have a treat for you this week. Hosted by the "Friends of the SAAF museum".
A DOUBLE WHAMMY OF OPEN DAYS. Yes indeed as this last Saturday was so successful, it's not rocket science and it's school holidays as well. This coming Saturday 21st Sept is when it's happening. Come on Mom's and Dad's. Bring the kids. Plenty for them to see and of course be able to get up close and personal with all our aircraft. You can even get into some of the aircraft which is really cool.
So that's Saturday done and dusted. Now to the big one. HERITAGE DAY. Tuesday next week 24th Sept. This has been the busiest day of the year for us over last 3 years and am pretty sure we are going to knock it out again.
So we going to have a theme day. NATIONAL HERITAGE DRESS DAY. Whatever your nationality is, get dressed up and come along down to our amazing museum. We have got prizes for the best dressed in the ladies and men's category. Its going to be a vibey morning with cool music and full of South African "Gees". Just something which we are very proud of. We are apparently thee most visited museum in the Cape at the moment. For a bunch of passionate volunteers, that's pretty damn awesome.
So back to the 24th. For the kids, jumping castle's, candy floss, popcorn, cooldrinks, juices and plenty others yummy snacks. For the parents, grandparent's, cousins and friends, lots of adult beverages, hot and cold including Stettyn Family Vineyards bubbly 🍾 by the glass. Our world famous boerewors rolls and hamburgers will of course be available as always.
So for both days, we are open from 9am till 2pm. If not sure where we are, then best is to Google Map Ysterplaat Air Force Base, Piet Grobler street and will take you directly to our main entrance. As simple as that.
Entrance is FREE. Just a small donation would be so very much appreciated. Yes we do have card facilities so no need to scratch around looking for cash at the last minute.
When you arrive, you will be welcomed by our parking attendants showing you where to park and where to go. Believe you me, you don't want to miss this event. Going to be an amazing day.
