About the Artists:
Pianist, composer, bandleader and educator Ramon Alexander has been an active jazz performer on the Cape Town scene for about two decades. He has made a name for himself recording and performing with well-known musicians such as Terumasa Hino, Barry Likumahuwa, Robbie Jansen, Ibrahim Khalil Shihab (Chris Schilder from Pacific Express fame), Errol Dyers, McCoy Mrubata, Schalk Joubert, Frank Paco, Dizu Plaatjies, Mark Fransman, and many more.
Ramon is joined by master Capetonian multi-instrumentalist musician Dylan Tabisher on double bass.
Annemie Nel will be joining the party on drums. Acclaimed South African jazz writer and critic, Percy Mabandu, writes "Her (Nel's) high quality drumming is central to what makes this band (Ramon Alexander Group) remarkable. She is focused, energized and deliciously musical. Captivating."
