About this Event
Inspired by today's waste age and throwaway culture, we'll discover how simple hand-stitching techniques can bring new life to clothing that deserves a longer future.
Drawing on traditional repair methods while reimagining them for tomorrow, we'll use reclaimed and second-hand fabrics to create decorative patchwork and explore visible mending, hand darning, repairing hems, replacing buttons and other practical techniques.
Participants can experiment with the materials provided or bring along their own garment for repair assessment.
Everyone will leave with a practical toolkit of hand-sewn repair skills, feeling inspired and confident to continue upcycling at home.
