FIRE FEST provides a look at how prescribedburns protect our communities and property from wildfires,
as well as maintain Florida’s natural ecosystems for present
and future generations. A part of Prescribed Fire Awareness
Week, FIRE FEST is an opportunity for the whole family to
learn how fire is used carefully and effectively on our natural
lands, right here in Sarasota County.
Due to ongoing drought conditions the county will not be conducting prescribed fire demonstrations this year.
- Wildfire Mitigation Team demonstrations at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- Game zone for kids.
Where: T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve

When: Saturday, Jan. 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain or shine)

dogs are not permitted at this event.

Move leaves, dead vegetation & other combustable material away from your home.
