Sara Thomsen album release

Twin Ports singer-songwriter Sara Thomsen celebrates the release of her 10th album "Here & Gone" with a performance on the beautiful Sacred Heart altar stage beginning at 4 pm Sunday, Feb. 1.

Dubbed in her local press as “one of Northern Minnesota’s best kept secrets,” Thomsen's home base is in the Lake Superior region near Duluth. “The Twin Ports folk singer picks up the torch carried by the balladeers of decades past: Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Holly Near, Ronnie Gilbert, and Peter, Paul, and Mary,” writes the Duluth Reader Weekly. “She could make Conan the Barbarian drop his sword and collapse blubbering.”

"Here and Gone" is the title of her new release recorded at Sacred Heart Music Center. Thomsen has produced nine previous albums.

E-tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 on Eventbrite for $28.52. Paper tickets will be available for $25 at Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth (plus $1 handing fee) and Globe News in Superior (Cash only). Tickets will be available at the door while supply lasts for $30. Doors at 3 pm. Music at 4.
