Each year the Santa Shoebox Project collects and distributes personalised gifts of essential items and treats for underprivileged children. In 17 years, your generosity has reached 1 152 587 children.PLEDGE
Pledging is open, login or register now to pledge your Santa Shoebox to make an underprivileged child's festive season special this December.
BOX COLLECTION
Collect your free shoebox at our Information Desk to assist you in packing your Santa Shoebox.
DATES: 1 September - 26 October
TIMES: 9am - 7pm Mondays to Saturdays and until 5pm on Sundays
WHERE: Information Desk, situated outside Truworths and Starbucks
The first 5 boxes are free. Each additional box will cost R10 which will go directly to Santa's Shoebox. Only cash payments accepted.
drop & go
DATES: 1 - 23 October
TIMES: 9am - 7pm Mondays to Saturdays and until 5pm on Sundays
WHERE: Information Desk, situated outside Truworths and Starbucks
drop-off
DATES: 24 - 26 October
TIMES: 9am - 6pm
WHERE: Shop 10, next to Legit (close to Edgars, accessible from Entrance 1, Pick n Pay side of the mall)
HOW TO PACK YOUR SANTA SHOEBOX
1. An outfit of clothing
Choose an outfit in the child's size. Consider including underwear.
2. Toothbrush & toothpaste
Please buy a big tube of toothpaste.
3. Facecloth & soap
Please include a big fragrant soap. If you choose a liquid soap, please seal it in a ziplock bag.
4. Educational supplies
Remember you are shopping for the next school year. Think of what will be required for that grade. How about a full stationery set? You can also include an English book to foster the joy of reading.
5. Sweets & toy
What do you enjoy? A cuddly fluffy toy, doll or car? Seal chocolate in a ziplock bag. Include batteries for toys that require them.
6. QR coded label
Download your label once you've pledged. It is scanned at drop-off to ensure the box reaches the right child.
7. Decorate your shoebox
Consider paint or stickers rather than paper. It's friendlier to the environment. Why not include a personal note from you to the child?
8. Drop off your shoebox
Please don't be late. Late deliveries may result in the child you've chosen not receiving their box.
