Join us for Sangha & Sound: a sound bath meditation with James Lamar.
This month's sound bath will be focused on what sangha means for our individual practice & how it can impact our collective energy when practicing together. As we approach the Fall Equinox, we are invited to go within and get back to doing the inner work after what I hope was an enjoyable summer for all. Come be immersed in soothing sound frequencies as we reap the benefits of doing so in community with other like-minded souls.
A sound bath is an immersive sonic experience where sound frequencies are emitted from various instruments to trigger the relaxation response. Our facilitator, James Lamar, will be utilizing clear quartz crystal singing bowls tuned to 432 Hz & the chakra centers (according to the Vedic philosophy), traditional Himalayan singing bowls, an universal symphonic gong, and chimes to take us on a vibrational acoustic journey.
The sound vibrations produced by the singing bowls and gong have been scientifically proven to slow our brain waves down to the alpha & theta states, which are deep relaxation & meditative states of consciousness. We can experience a slowing down of the mind, feelings of floating, and/or in this practice of stillness, various emotions & memories can come to the surface for the purpose of healing. These sound frequencies can also be used to enhance manifestations, so come prepared with your intentions of any seeds you wish to plant into your life & into the world.
Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, eye covering, or anything else you may need to create your most comfortable experience. You will be laying down for over an hour.
James Lamar is a certified sound bath facilitator and recording artist in Danville, PA. He was certified by Ana Netanel of Shakti Sound Bath in Los Angeles, CA during the summer of 2019. Since his training, James has shared these sacred frequencies in multiple spaces around Los Angeles, Northeastern PA, Philadelphia & Pittsburgh.
