About this Event
San Mateo Chats is a biotech speaker series that brings scientific leadership into civic space, connecting the community with the region’s world-class research institutions and the ideas shaping our future.
This year’s program features Dr. Lisa McGinnis, Director of Spatial and Digital Pathology at Genentech.
Pathology—the study of disease through cells and tissues—is undergoing a rapid transformation. Advances in imaging, computational analysis, and spatial biology now allow scientists to observe how cells interact within human tissue at unprecedented resolution.
In this talk, Dr. McGinnis will explore how these technologies are reshaping our understanding of cancer, immune response, and complex disease—unlocking new possibilities for diagnosis and treatment.
San Mateo Chats is part of San Mateo Celebrates, a weeklong festival of free programs, events, and experiences that highlight the power of stories, ideas, and community.
