About this Event

:
Friday, April 10, 2026, San Antonio Black History Tours presents the Eastside Classic Tour, a signature experience exploring the historic Eastside—long recognized as the cultural, educational, and political center of Black San Antonio.

This guided tour uncovers stories rooted in place: from education and arts to community organizing and self-determination. Participants will walk and ride through spaces where Black history was lived, built, and preserved—often against great odds.

  • Walk on the River Mural Banner – A powerful visual tribute to Black presence and memory in the city
  • St. Philip’s College – A historic Black college and cornerstone of education and opportunity
  • Historic Carver Cultural Center – A vital hub for Black arts, performance, and community life
  • Ellis Alley Enclave – A historic Eastside corridor and longtime center of Black culture, business, and community organizing

…and additional Eastside locations that tell the story of Black resilience and collective power.
