About this Event
Join us for a half-day camp at SAMSAT, The San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology.
Graphic Design Camp is a creative, project-based experience where students go from “blank page” to finished, shareable designs they’re proud of. By the end of the week, they’ll have a small portfolio and a practical workflow for turning ideas into clean, professional-looking visuals for clubs, small businesses, or personal projects.
Students will learn:
- graphic design fundamentals while creating polished visuals for real-world brands using Canva, GIMP, and Blender.
- design logos, posters, and social media graphics while exploring color, typography, and layout for professional-looking results.
- build a simple brand kit (logo, colors, fonts, and templates) they can reuse for school, clubs, or personal projects.
- practice designing for different platforms—print, web, and mobile—so their work looks great everywhere.
- learn how to edit photos and create custom assets in GIMP to elevate their designs beyond basic templates.
The camp sessions will be held at SAMSAT's AREA 21® located within the Boeing Center at Tech Port building (3331 General Hudnell, 78226).
Must be a rising 7th-12th grader.
A snack will be provided, but please remember to bring your own water bottle. If you plan to stay for the full day, bring your own lunch. Refrigeration and a microwave will NOT be available.
Camp hours: 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM
Early drop-off, up to 30 minutes before the start time, is permitted.
