Meet Your Event Host

Claudia Bastien

Claudia Bastien is an Anishinaabe adventurer, endurance athlete, and outdoor storyteller who has called British Columbia home for the past 10 years. From bikepacking across continents to sailing the Pacific coast, trail running, and exploring the mountains, she's passionate about pushing her limits and connecting with others through outdoor adventure. As a Garmin Outdoor Ambassador and longtime lover of Samsara, she's excited to bring two communities she loves together for a morning of movement, connection, and shared stoke!

Meet Your Run Leaders

Michaela (she/her) is a running scientist by day and a cyclist by night! As a PhD student on a budget, she mastered the art of affordable and accessible biking adventures. She serves as an RBC Whistler Granfondo ambassador and has coached the Women's Intro to Road Biking clinic. Above all, Michaela is passionate about supporting and educating riders - always eager to grow the cycling community, especially for underrepresented groups.

Sophie (she/her) is a runner turned triathlete. She competed on the SFU track and field team and post-collegiately with the Vancouver Thunderbirds. But now she has turned her attention to triathlon and just returned from the World Age Group Championships in Spain. And, Sophie is Samsara's COO (and backup model), working hard to ensure we run efficiently so that we can support as many female athletes as possible.

Charissa Landicho (she/her) is a movement coach, community facilitator, storyteller, and endurance athlete.

Inspired by her journey recovering from multiple concussions, Charissa is passionate about empowering others to get started, do hard things, and most importantly, do them sustainably. What began as a journey of rediscovering her own capabilities has since taken her across the finish lines of a half Ironman, an ultramarathon, and most recently, the Whistler GranFondo.

As a strength & conditioning coach at KIN Culture, Charissa channels her experiences into creating inclusive, beginner-friendly spaces where people feel supported to explore what they're capable of. Above all, she hopes everyone leaves her spaces feeling a little more confident, a little more capable, and empowered to take up space on their own start lines.
