Dear booklovers,

Salon Maurèle, the boutique’s book club, draws its inspiration from a lineage of women who shaped culture through conversation.

For the second edition of our bookclub i picked up Kindred by Octavia E. Butler. An important and layered Sci-fi thriller which tells the story of Dana, a young African-American women who gets transported through time to a plantation in the 19th century.

The book explores ancestory, race, identiry and powerstructures.
