Have you ever wondered what it's like to run a small farm? Would you like to snuggle a baby goat? Do you love cheese?
About this Event

Come visit Sage Farm Goat Dairy to meet our small herd of Alpine dairy goats and taste our award-winning cheese! Our main focus is producing artisanal cheeses from the milk of our exceptional herd. In addition, we produce maple syrup, and eggs from a flock of pastured hens. We are a true farmstead operation, using all of our own milk to make our cheeses, and we prioritize our relationship with our land. On the tour, you will meet and interact with our goats and other animals on the farm while you learn about our farming practices, including our rotational grazing and milking systems. You will also learn about our cheesemaking processes, and will be able to take a peek inside the cheeseroom. The tour is followed by a guided cheese tasting, highlighting the diversity of our products. During the months of April and May you will have the opportunity to bottle-feed and frolic with baby goats!

A few things to know:

Kids: Our tours are geared toward adults, but we can accommodate children. Due to the nature of the farm (electric fences, animals, insects), if you plan to bring very young children, it is important that you keep them by your side at all times. Kids require a ticket.

Weather: Tours will happen as scheduled in all weather. If it is raining (or snowing) hard, tours will mainly be inside the barns and the tasting will be indoors.

Pets: Please leave all pets at home.

Parking: Parking for farm tours is at the bottom of the FIRST farm driveway, at 2248 West Hill Rd. Colleen will meet you in the driveway and begin the tour at the dairy barn. Do not park at the farm store, which is down the SECOND farm driveway at 2346 West Hill Rd.

Terrain: The walking tour will take you up and down barn steps and over rough, uneven ground. Please wear appropriate footwear and be forewarned that goats like to nibble on clothing!

Biosecurity: If you are a farmer or live on a farm, please wear clean footwear and clothing that has not been recently worn inside another animal facility.
