About this Event
What ?
The Environmental Health Team are pleased to announce their next food safety workshop with the aim of providing small food businesses with guidance and assistance on how to ensure their business is compliant with legislative requirements in food safety and prepare for Environmental Health inspections.
The workshops will provide an overview of the requirements and responsibilities for food businesses around food handling, food hygiene, food preparation, physical conditions, processes, training and management systems.
Attendees will also receive support and guidance with the completion of a Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) Pack. SFBB is a practical approach to food safety management for smaller businesses which the UK Food Standards Agency designed.
Why ?
All food business operators must have written details of what they do within their business to ensure the food that they make and sell is safe to eat. SFBB packs can help you to meet this legal requirement. It is an offence not to have food safety management system in place and should an inspection identify that you do not have one, this could lead to legal action being taken including formal notices, enforced closures, and even prosecution.
Get ahead of the game and ensure you are well prepared for an inspection and that you are demonstrating excellence in food safety for the protection of your customers and business.
Our comprehensive Safer Food, Better Business workshops will assist you in identifying areas in which you could improve, and demonstrate your legal responsibility to have a Food Safety Management System.
Who?
The workshops are aimed at small catering businesses such as restaurants, cafes, takeaways and mobile food premises.
Where & When?
We will be hosting a series of workshops throughout the year, with the first one being held on Thursday 27th February at Knockaloe Classroom, Patrick (just off of the Patrick Road opposite the Centre for WW1 Internment).
Free of charge

Spaces are limited and in order that we can accommodate as many businesses as possible, we are restricting places to 2 people per business. If you feel that you need more than 2 places, please contact us and we can add any additional names to a waiting list.

Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial to have previously completed formal food hygiene training such as the CIEH Level 2 Food Safety in Catering course, offered
Further information and food safety coaching videos are also available
