Afrikindness is pleased to invite you to a culturally responsive safeguarding training, delivered in collaboration with Amaheree Society in Wakefield.

This session is designed to support families and communities in understanding safeguarding through an African cultural lens, creating space for open, honest, and practical conversations.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility—but understanding how it applies within our cultural context is key. This training will explore what safeguarding and child protection mean, while addressing real-life experiences within our communities.

Time:- 3pm - 6pm

• What safeguarding and child protection mean
• Physical chastisement, discipline, abuse, and neglect
• Cultural perspectives and common barriers to seeking support
• What parents need to know to keep their children safe
• How to support your child’s safety at home, in school, and online
• Working with professionals and understanding school safeguarding systems
• Online safety and protecting children in today’s digital world

This session aims to build confidence, increase awareness, and strengthen collaboration between families and professionals to keep children safe.

This training is for parents, leaders, carers particularly from West African countries who speak Soninke language.
