About this Event
Leftovers often end up forgotten at the back of the fridge or thrown away because it's hard to imagine what else they could become. Yet those remaining ingredients can often be the starting point for entirely new meals.
This workshop explores how to look at leftovers differently. Instead of seeing them as yesterday’s meal repeated, we look at how they can be transformed into soups, stir-fries, wraps, pasta dishes and other quick meals that prevent waste while saving money.
Planning also plays a part in this process. When meals are cooked with the next day in mind, the leftovers stop being accidental and start becoming part of the plan. Participants will learn how to cook and store food in ways that make those follow-up meals easy to prepare.
Our trainer, Shaun, will show you how to save both time and money. No prior cooking experience needed - this event is suitable for anyone.
The Community Foundation for Wakefield District regularly runs skills for life workshops that can make a genuine difference to everyday life. For example, when people feel confident in the kitchen, it becomes easier to manage household budgets, reduce stress around food and build habits that support longer-term stability.
This workshop is funded by Sainsbury's Good Food For All.
