Please join us at the Center for a presentation on a practice called the Sadhana of Mahamudra, followed by the practice itself. The practice involves meditation, chanting, and visualization. It was written in 1968 as a response to the spiritual corruption and political division of that time, as a tool to rouse inspiration and transform chaotic, everyday experiences into direct enlightenment.
More information:
Every month, the new moon is magically invisible and powerfully present. How do we offer our heart’s longing and devotion fully to our life, to our world, in the darkness of the night?
In his life, Chögyam Trungpa went through many dark times, starting with escaping the Chinese Communist invasion of Tibet and facing the loss of his country, teachers, family, monastery, and way of life. He came to the West to teach and share his profound insight and tradition, but the way forward was difficult to find.
Trungpa Rinpoche received and wrote The Sadhana of Mahamudra and shared it freely with everyone to practice. From then on, devotion and crazy wisdom were two elements that sparked his life and teachings. In our short time together, we will explore what devotion is and how it could help us all wake up in this potent and dark time.
