Sacred Hearts Mosaic Workshop

The Sacred Heart is one of the most common motifs found in Mexican religious folk art. Often mixed with the image of a flame, it is used as a symbol of eternal love. As we enter the Valentine’s season, this subject will be used to learn techniques of mosaic application for an all season installation. Students will pick a heart shape from a variety of hand cut forms and learn about different substrates, mosaic materials, adhesives and grouts as they create a mosaic art piece to adorn their outdoor space.
