RSA200 Wednesday Workshops: Summer Art Workshops for Children - Week 3
About this Event
The summer holidays have arrived! Why not join us for some creative, hands-on fun? Come along and explore art, nature, and imagination in our beautiful garden (weather permitting). Each week brings a brand new artistic adventure:
🍃 Week 3 – 29 July: Nature Collage
Back into nature we go to found beautiful colours to create a nature collage that will last forever.
This week we are using nature again, in a completely different way. We will be using the natural beauty around us to create a collage frame filled with these lovely bits of nature. There will be natural items you can use to create a masterpiece but feel free to bring along any flat natural items (petals, leaves, feathers, flowers, grasses etc.)
🖌️ Week 4 – 5 August: Carnegie Personality Portrait
This is an extension of one of our HQ Explorer Past-Port activities. We will explore Andrew Carnegie's personality and try to capture that using mark making and symbols.
🌈 Week 5 – 12 August: Colour Mixing Magic
The colour wheel is a wonderful way to explore colour mixing. We will fill our colour wheels using only yellow, blue, and red.
We will be working with paint or markers during these workshops, so please ensure your children wear old clothes or an apron. We will not be providing any aprons, only messy fun.
We would like to invite parents to please stay at the museum while your child is taking part in the workshop. Please enjoy the RSA200 exhibition in the hall or a cuppa in the cafe while we are getting creative.
The workshops are perfect for children aged 5–12, these workshops are all about getting creative, making new friends, and having lots of fun outdoors. Come and let your imagination grow!
