Join our Livestock Team at Carnation Farms for a hands-on, immersive workshop series designed to help homesteaders, farmers, and ranchers enhance their pastures, improve herd health, and implement regenerative rotational grazing practices. Whether you’re new to grazing or looking to refine your approach, this series offers practical tools, community support, and expert guidance to create a more sustainable and productive system for your land and livestock.
What:
- A beginner-friendly introduction designed to help producers assess readiness, build confidence, and start rotational grazing with a plan.
- Topics covered are: Grazing Concepts and Vocabulary, Animal Health, Pasture Assessment and Planning Tools, Fencing and Infrastructure, and Soil and Plant Health.
- Attendants will receive a physical folder as well as access online to a plethora of resources and tools to aid in grazing planning and management.
- The course is taught by our knowledgeable staff who have over 25 years of combined farming experience. Please come with questions and problems, we love to help solve them!
Who:
- This course is designed for anyone interested in learning more about rotational grazing and regenerative systems of livestock management.
- Whether you have grazed cattle for 30 years or haven’t yet bought your first chickens, we feel confident we can share some valuable information for how to approach more adaptive management
Lunch:
- The workshop will include a 30 minute break for lunch. There is an option to add lunch to your ticket, which will include a smashburger and chips from our culinary team at the pop-up that day. You are also welcome to shop our farmstand for lunch or bring a sack lunch!
