About this Event

REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BEGINNING AUGUST 15TH

Chicago for Chicagoans is excited to bring back a newly-revamped 2-hour walk through the lively pocket neighborhood of Roscoe Village, led by expert Barry Love! Barry brings over fifteen years of neighborhood activism to a tour that will cover Roscoe Village's rich patchwork of industrial, residential, and commercial landmarks.

Beginning at the Paulina Brown Line stop, we'll explore the history & architecture of a neighborhood once known for its pencil factory, amusement park, and kooky aldermen. These days, it's a bustling part of the city filled with small businesses, historic homes, an infamous rat hole, and just about everything in between. After the tour, participants are encouraged to join the group for a drink at Village Tap!

Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too! We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates inclusive walking tours by & for Chicago residents, designed to represent the histories of all Chicagoans. Donate online fee-free at chicagoforchicagoans.org.
