RoR Step Into Showing Clinic
Take the guesswork out of showing your former racehorse.
The RoR Step into Showing Clinic provides a welcoming, educational introduction to the world of ex-racehorse showing.
Delivered in partnership with showing experts and qualified RoR judges, this clinic offers a “mock show” experience where riders can present their horses, receive feedback on turnout and ringcraft, and gain insight into what judges are looking for in RoR and affiliated classes.
Perfect for:
Riders preparing for their first show
Those wanting to refine presentation and ringcraft
Anyone looking to understand what judges are looking for within ex-racehorse classes.
Led by: RoR-accredited judges and qualified showing coaches .
Open to: RoR-registered horses and riders.
Supportive, insightful, and confidence-building - your first step towards success in the show ring.
Times: Start and finish times are subject to change, depending on numbers.
You will come show ready and dressed to impress. If you are able you can plait and prepare your former racehorse, ready for the ring. If you are unsure of what to wear then please do not worry, you can just wear your regular riding attire.
Helen will guide you through the RoR Showing requirements, what to do in the ring and you will have a go at a show. You will receive feedback and guidance of next steps.
Private or small group sessions avaiable.
This can be in-hand or ridden but please note when booking what you would like.

Helen Taylor BHS Accredited Coach BSPS Panel Judge & ROR Judge Bio.
I am an absolute fan of the thoroughbred and I am delighted to be able to run this clinic in quiet surroundings suitable for them. I have worked in racing when I was younger subsequently having my own Point to pointer. I have competed my own horses nationally since I was very young coming through Pony Club games team, Hunting , Working Hunter, Show Hunters, Riding Horses, Show Ponies, M&Ms to RIHS & HOYS level, also Show Jumping professionally… Breaking and producing young horses is something I really enjoy doing and currently have several I am working on, I have been an BHS Accredited Coach for over 30 years. Teaching/ Coaching all standards of riders and horses. I regularly teach/train ex race horses and understand their needs which are often different to non raced horses. Everyone is welcome to come to the clinic which will be friendly and encouraging.
