About this Event
Step into a hands-on drawing experience guided by Roots & Wings: Textures of a Migratory Life featured artist, Ronit Shalem. Working with playful, guided prompts, we will experiment with line, pattern, and texture to build layered compositions inspired by themes of roots, movement, and return.
Together, we will look slowly, draw boldly, and share ideas about how art can hold multiple stories at once. Whether you are a first-time drawer or an experienced maker, this workshop offers a supportive, imaginative space to create and reflect through Shalem’s richly textured, symbol-driven approach.
Ronit Shalem is a visual artist who blends storytelling, pattern, and symbolic detail. Originally from Tel Aviv, Israel and now based in Northern California, she works with layered textures, animals, and repeated shapes to create imaginative worlds that feel both playful and reflective. For Shalem, art is a way to process life and hold its contradictions with care, exploring the balance between holding on and moving forward.
