Dear Community Members and Partners,We are pleased to invite you to our workshop titled “Rooted in Culture: to Navigate Culture, Identity, and Everyday Financial Systems in Canada.”
This workshop is designed to create a safe and welcoming space for families of African descent to come together, share experiences, and learn practical ways to navigate everyday financial systems in Canada while honouring culture, values, and intergenerational knowledge.
Workshop Details

Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Living Spirit Centre 3018 Doan Drive Regina
What to Expect:
• Open conversations about cultural attitudes toward money and family responsibility
• Guidance on having age-appropriate money conversations with children and youth
• A practical overview of everyday financial systems in Canada, including banking, credit, and budgeting
• Opportunities for reflection, discussion, and shared learning within the community

This workshop is hosted by Daughters of Africa Resources Centre SK Inc., with support from SaskCulture and Sask Lotteries, in partnership with UCAS, and we are grateful to the Lutheran Church for generously providing the venue.
The session is open to parents, caregivers, youth, and community members. Whether you are new to Canada or have been here for some time, you are warmly welcome to attend.
