Held by God, Holding OthersMother’s Day carries many stories.
For some it is joyful. For others it brings grief, longing, or complexity. Rooted & Held is a half-day Christian gathering created to honour the full spectrum of experience.
This independent event welcomes women from across church traditions (and not!) who desire both spiritual depth and practical growth. It is a space to be ministered to — and to be strengthened in how you minister to others.
Throughout the morning we will worship, pray, and reflect on God’s nurturing character. We will explore pastoral presence in everyday life, learning practical skills in attentive listening, speaking blessing, and cultivating emotional steadiness as part of spiritual maturity.
The morning includes:
Worship and guided prayer
Teaching on pastoral presence and emotional regulation
Practical listening and blessing practices
Facilitated small-group dialogue
Reflective prayer stations
Creative response and commissioning
This is not a typical Mother’s Day celebration, nor is it a formal training seminar. It is an intentional space of Christian formation — integrating heart, body, and practice.
Light refreshments (fruit, pastries, tea and coffee) will be provided.
Women who mother biologically or spiritually, carry visible or unseen leadership, or simply long to grow in grounded, Christ-shaped presence are warmly invited.
Booking closes on 13th March at 5pm. Minimum numbers of 6 applies.
We regret to inform you that their is no disabled access for this event, which is being held in the upstairs room of Milford Baptist Church. Please keep an eye on our website, where we'll be running this event again in a completely accessible venue.
