Root & Remain: Grounded Yin with Sandbags
The addition of sandbags creates a unique experience within the body—a feeling of being gently anchored, held, and supported by the earth beneath you. As weight settles across the body, an unconscious holding begins to soften: the jaw unclenches, the shoulders release, the breath deepens naturally.
Rather than asking the body to work harder, this practice explores what happens when we stop holding quite so much.
Expect:
Long-held grounding yin postures
Sandbags to encourage release and deep settling
Soft props and restorative support
Spacious quiet and minimal cueing
A deeply restful extended savasana
This is not a practice of striving. It is a practice of allowing yourself to be held.
Please bring your yoga mat. We have a few mats to lend if you don't have your own!
