The story of Romeo and Juliet is a universal symbol of pure love that consistently defies social conventions and divisions in the world. It is love with a capital L, capable of breaking down barriers, overcoming time, and surviving death. In Federico Veratti's choreographic version for Balletto di Milano, the essence of Shakespeare's tragedy is revealed through a combination of classical and contemporary dance. The main characters, Romeo and Juliet, convey with particular expressiveness the power of a feeling that cannot be overcome by the power of fate. The choreography alternates between soulful scenes — such as touching pas de deux — and energetic, thrilling group numbers filled with technical virtuosity that highlights the artists' skill.
