We are pleased to announce another edition of our fantastic day trip by air to Rome and Vatican City.
Often referred as the Eternal City, Rome is the ultimate destination for any traveller, having been the centre of the world for many centuries and often referred to as “Caput Mundi”, meaning the capital of the world. Founded by the two brothers Romulus and Remus around three thousand years ago, Rome is home to many historical, architectural, archaeological and cultural attractions, some of which we will visit during our fantastic day trip in Rome.
During our day trip, we will also be visiting Vatican City, which is the smallest state in Europe. Here we will enjoy the majestic St Peter’s Square and also experience the Basilica of Saint Peter, the world’s most important church which was completed in 1676.
You will have the opportunity to see the Porta Santa, one of the doors of the Basilica of Saint Peter, which is only open during Jubilee Years. Experience the awesome masterpieces of this majestic church, including the cupola by Michelangelo and the Piazza San Pietro Colonnade by Bernini. Visit the tomb of St John Paul II and pause at the beauty of Michelangelo’s Pieta’. Let us explain the connection between this Basilica and the head of St Andrew, the cloth of the Veronica, the spear of San Longinus and the fragments of the Holy Cross collected by Saint Helen, all of which are held within the Basilica.

Meet at Malta International Airport at 5:00am for check in and boarding on KM Malta Airlines flight KM612 to Rome departing from Malta at 7:00am and arriving in Rome at 8:35am. On arrival, we will head towards the historical centre of Rome (transfer included in tour price), arriving there at around 9:30am. We will start our walking tour of the Eternal City. We will be able to spend time admiring the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, before heading up the Roman Forum and the Via dei Fori Imperiali towards Piazza Venezia, where we will see the imposing Vittorio Emanuele II monument, known also as the “wedding cake”. We will proceed towards the Via del Corso area where we will have free time for shopping and personal sightseeing. We will then proceed to the Fontana di Trevi, the Piazza di Spagna, the Spanish Steps, the Trinita’ dei Monti church and eventually to the Piazza del Popolo. Free time, including free time for lunch (not included in tour price) in the area. We will then take the public transport (included in tour price) to proceed to Vatican City, where we will visit St Peter’s Square and enjoy free time in the area, possibly visiting the Basilica of St Peter. We can also take a short walk down the Via della Conciliazione, a pedestrian area which is the main street of Vatican City, in order to view the Castel Sant’Angelo and the imposing bridge leading to it. Departure at around 5:45pm to Rome Fiumicino Airport, arriving there in time for check in and embarkation on KM Malta Airlines flight K615 to Malta, which departs at 9:00pm and arrives in Malta at 10:30pm.
