Ideal for beginners as well as those with some prior mosaic experience, this class offers the chance to develop and refine your skills while creating a striking artwork with timeless appeal.Guided by a detailed Roman-inspired pattern, you’ll learn traditional mosaic techniques with a focus on laying tiles along curves - a defining feature of ancient Roman mosaics. Expert tuition will show you how to cut and shape tiles accurately using professional tools, and how to achieve balance, movement, and flow, also known as Andamento, within your design.
Once your mosaic is complete, you’ll grout your piece, adding the finishing touches that bring depth, cohesion, and polish to your work.
Delivered in a relaxed and supportive environment, this workshop offers both technical instruction and creative exploration. It’s perfect for anyone wishing to deepen their practice while engaging with the rich traditions of classical art.
Light lunch and all equipment included.
