The 39th annual Rohnert Park Fishing Derby Saturday May 25th from 8am - 10am. More information at www.fishing-derby.org You need to have a pole and fishing gear. We have powerbait and worms. When you arrive Fill out a Entry form, then take that to the registration table (by the dock)and find a spot. Fishing derby starts at 8am. This is Free event for kids under the age of 15. Thanks to our generous sponsors. I know I have had many concerns with the Homeless camp across the street from Roberts lake. This year the Homeless camp is empty. I am working with the Rohnert Park Police and they will be present to make it a safe event for all. Last year having them at the fishing derby made a BIG impact. BIG thank you to the Rohnert Park police for making sure everyone was safe at the fishing derby.
Last year I also walked the shores the morning before the derby looking for needles to make sure everyone that attends is in a safe environment. I will do the same this year. The City of Rohnert Park also cleans the park a couple day before the derby.
