About this Event
Join hosts Britt & Chad Culley of Rodney Strong Wine Estates for an intimate evening
of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley — poured course by course
and closing with a three-year vertical of Brothers.
This is a small-format dinner, limited to just 16 guests, built around five wines and
five thoughtfully matched bites.
THE LINEUP
Wine 1 — Alexander's Crown
Rodney Strong's founding vineyard-designate, farmed on a hillside of well-drained red
volcanic soil since 1971. Voluptuous and richly layered, with black currant, blackberry,
and violet giving way to soft tannin, dried herb, and a whisper of mocha on a long finish.
Paired with Truffle Fries.
Wine 2 — Rockaway
Grown mid-valley where gravelly clay meets fractured Greywacke sandstone. Dark plum and
red currant meet tobacco, leather, and baking spice, framed by fine-grained tannin.
Paired with a Seasoned Lamb Chop.
THE BROTHERS VERTICAL
Three vintages, one hillside — from the 141-acre Brothers Vineyard above Cloverdale,
planted on west-facing slopes above 1,000 feet.
Wine 3.1 — Brothers 2016
Deeply rich and complex, with dark berries and cassis giving way to blackberry, plum,
and notes of chocolate and mocha across a round, seductive mid-palate.
Paired with a Brisket Slider.
Wine 3.2 — Brothers 2017
Beautiful cassis, violets, sandalwood, and leafy herb notes; medium to full-bodied with
an elegant, textured mouthfeel and ripe tannin.
Paired with a Pulled Pork Slider.
Wine 3.3 — Brothers 2018
Dark berries and cassis with licorice, graphite, and cedar aromatics; full-bodied and
fruit-forward, moving into blackberry preserve, cocoa powder, and a long, chocolate-tinged
finish.
Paired with Chocolate Torte.
