🙏 We feel so happy to welcome Txira Huni Kuin in Austria. 🙏
Txira is not just an amazing musician and filmmaker, she is a song carrier in the tradition - a female Txana, who carries a deep prayer in her voice.
Roda means “Circle”

This evening will be about the sharing of indigenous music and coming together in sacred space as a circle to listen, dance, pray, sing and enjoy community.
It's meant to be a space to gather strength and joy.
Txira will share music and the medicine of Hapé.
“Hapé or Rapé”’ is a Sacred Medicine from the Amazon; This snuff-tabacco is used by the indigenous people for grounding, clearing and re-aligning. It is made of the ashes of pulverized tabacco and different herbs.
It is applied through the nose, blown by another person through a tepi, a pipe.
Whoever wants to receive Rapé this evening, please bring toilet paper & little bucket to spit into afterwards. The effects are clearing of the energetic field, removing "panema" the negative energy, harmonizing the thoughts and bringing mental and physical clarity.
There is also the chance of vomiting - "getting well", if physical toxins are removed, although that is a rare effect.
Taking Rapé is not mandatory on this evening.

Txira is not just an amazing musician and filmmaker, she is a song carrier in the tradition - a female Txana, who carries a deep prayer in her voice.
The Huni Kuin, the "real people" which is the direct translation, are the guardians of the wind, they have such a profound mastery of sound in their voices.
The Txana is a bird in the jungle, which can imitate the voices of all the other birds. So a Txana in the tradition is able to hear and learn songs by listening deeply.
They carry the healing chants, the sacred songs that are interwoven with the spirit, Yuxiibu, in all life around them.
Txira follows the footsteps of her father Yube Hunikuin, who introduced the medium of film to their communities, to preserve knowledge, to support education for the tribes, but also for people from outside.
Txira is part of the KATAHIRINE NETWORK @REDEKATAHIRINE - the first indigenous women's audiovisual network in Brazil.
This network is created to strengthen and amplify indigenous narratives, cultures and voices through cinema and communication.
She is also part of the indigenous communicators network of Acre - @REDECOMUNICADORESAC, a collective bringing together young indigenous communicators, working with film, photography, radio and digital media to preserve culture, protect territories and strengthen the indigenous resistance and movement.
So let's listen to her message and take it into our hearts - to create strong and nourishing alliances with the ancient traditions!
