About this Event

This class is for the novice rockhounds out there interested in rockhounding but are not sure where to begin …the ones who can’t walk by an ‘interesting pile’ without stopping! This course will teach you some basic geology; rock, mineral and fossil identification; and local regulations for collecting rocks and fossils in the Black Hills region. Your instructors have Bachelor’s in Geology and Paleontology and will provide a basic introduction to this fun hobby with lecture, demonstration and hands-on experience identifying basic and local rock and minerals! Don’t miss this opportunity to rock out!

Ticket includes a rock and mineral identification kit that will be used during the class for hands-on learning.
