Join ROC for our guided hike at Young's Mountain! This trail was recently opened after sustaining damage from Hurricane Helene, thanks to the hard work of staff and volunteers with at Conserving Carolina. We are leading this hike to celebrate its opening! The trail crosses streams and climbs the mountain to beautiful views of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains, making for an interesting hike. Prepare for a moderately strenuous climb, including some difficult sections that are narrow and tough to maneuver. The hike will total 4.3 miles out-and-back with ~1200 feet of elevation gain. Where: Meet at the Club Wyndham Resort in Lake Lure
Carpool details: Parking is extremely limited at the Young's Mountain trailhead and requires a parking permit. Therefore, all participants will be shuttled up from the Club Wyndham Resort. The van will leave from this parking lot at 9:00AM!
*If you live closer to Rutherfordton and would like to carpool from there, the ROC van will be leaving our office at 8:30AM.
