About this Event

Nature has inspired poets for as long as humans have sung, spoken, and written – and few places are as inspiring as the banks of the Truckee River. Take a stroll with a local writer as they share their poetry and guide us through the process of writing our own.

Our guided Poetry Walk begins at Brodhead Memorial Park. While we stroll along the river, we’ll notice the water, flora, and fauna. Bring a notebook and pencil – and come join us in this most human of art forms! No experience needed, just a desire to reflect and create.

Max Stone is a writer, poet, and artist from Reno, Nevada. He played soccer at Queens College in New York City before returning to Reno to earn his MFA in poetry from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is the author of two chapbooks: The Bisexual Lighting Makes Everyone Beautiful and Temporary Preparations. He is a regular contributor to Reno News & Review and Southwest Contemporary and the creator, curator, and host of Landline Poetry Series.
