Rivers & Mountains Explorer Series: Emerald Necklace

Join us for the second ride of the Rivers & Mountains Explorer Series. This ride will explore the beautiful Emerald Necklace.
The series is centered on exploring rivers and waterways in the SGV and our San Gabriel Mountains, learning about the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, and ways to improve and protect it.
The second ride will feature the Emerald Necklace which is located in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley. The route is approximately 18 miles round-trip with 300ft of elevation gain, on streets as well as sperated bike paths.
This ride will start and finish at the Jeff Seymour Family Center. Due to the length, this ride is not recommended for anyone under the age of 12.

Start/End: Jeff Seymour Family Center, 10900 Mulhall St, El Monte, CA 91731
Experience Level: Intermediate - A moderate, self-paced ride on a car-free trail with steady elevation gain, recommended for riders comfortable with longer distances and varied terrain. A bike with gears is strongly recommended.
What to Bring:
- A functional bicycle (highly recommended with gears)
- Helmet
- Water Bottle (with water)
PLEASE NOTE: Bikes with training wheels are not permitted, but children are welcome to attend if pulled in a trailer or on-bike child seat*
PLEASE NOTE: All ride participants must sign this waiver to participate. A parent or legal guardian is required to sign for and accompany any minors under 18 participating in the ride.
RAIN POLICY: If extreme heat is forecast, we will contact you 24 hours in advance to confirm or cancel the ride.
Safety Protocols: If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay home. Staff and ride marshals reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow these protocols (e.g., arrives without prior registration, does not complete the waiver, etc.).
