About this Event
The Chilterns Chalk Stream Project and Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust as part of the Lea Catchment Partnership are hosting this Riverfly Open Day on Saturday 5th October, 12:00 - 16:00 at the Boxmoor Trust Centre (HP1 2RE).
Join us to find out more about how Riverfly is monitoring river health in the Colne, South Chilterns and Lea catchments. The afternoon will involve talks from various people involved with the study of freshwater invertebrates, plus a walk down to the River Bulbourne for a taster/refresher Riverfly kick-sampling session.
This event is open for anyone to attend; please ensure to register through the Eventbrite booking system as spaces are limited.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided during the indoor session break before we walk down to the river.
The Venue
There is free parking available at the Boxmoor Trust Centre.
The Bulbourne River is about a 20-minute walk from the centre (each way); please ensure to bring knee-high wellies if you would like to try out kick-sampling during the afternoon session, or suitable footwear for unstable ground if you're happy just to observe.
