About this Event
What makes a performance powerful?
How is that power felt, and how is it harnessed?
The histories of theatrical performance and ceremonial practice are deeply intertwined in many traditions throughout the world, and in this workshop we’ll learn and practice a handful of techniques for creating experiences that occupy the space between art and magic.
We’ll draw from hellenistic magical tradition, bhakti yoga and creative lineages including physical theater, Deep Listening and (soma)tic poetry. Through a combination of discussion, solo practice and creative collaboration, students will learn how to translate their intentions into real-world impact — in magical workings and theatrical performances alike.
This workshop is for all bodies and experience levels, and all attendees will receive a free ticket to The Infinite Wrench!
About the Instructor:
Cinder O is a performance artist, spirit worker and one of the newest members of the SF Neo-Futurists. As an artist, they are interested in the power of word and gesture to generate the qualities of collective space. As a ceremonialist, they support individuals healing ancestral cycles of disconnection and harm through accessing and releasing blocked potentials held within the physical and energetic body. They’ve been teaching and exploring the boundaries between magic and performance for 14 years.
