Hello everyone, it is getting close to Remembrance Sunday again, so here is this years(2025) post to let all you bikers out there know what we are hoping for on Sunday 9th November. IF the weather is absolutely appalling, it will not go ahead , on safety grounds, and I will post on here asap.
Broadly speaking, this is our own version of the Ring Of Red rides up and down the country, notably the ride around the M25, in which, wearing something red, we ride, clockwise, around a coastal route of the Island, as our tribute to Remembrance Sunday and all that it represents for everyone, past and present day .
The rideout will be roughly the same route as previous years, but crucially, we will be setting off from the starting point at 8AM, not 9AM, to give us a better run out , with a short break (5mins for a stop and stretch legs time) at Blackgang viewpoint car park. The route takes in many of our towns and villages , and , please note, is approximately 75 miles in total, and 2hours 30minutes riding time, keeping to all relevant speed limits etc..
Everyone is welcome to ride along with us, hopefully we will gain a few more this year, as I hope this site will reach more people this year ( thank you Brittany, for setting it up!)
THE ROUTE: 9/11/2025--8AM Sharp!
Starting from E.Cowes esplanade near Shoreside Cafe 8AM.
Up York Ave, through Whippingham, left turn at the roundabout to Lushington Hill, Wootton Bridge, Binstead, Ryde Union St., Esplanade, through to Appley, Pondwell, Nettlestone, St. Helens, Bembridge Harbour, Bembridge, Yaverland, Sandown High St., Lake, Shanklin High St., Cowleaze hill, Ventnor Town (not the esplanade!), Turn left at the lights, up past Church St. Motorcycles, onto zig zag rd., Gills Cliff rd., Whitwell Rd., Whitwell, left turn at the cemetery, Niton, Blackgang Viewpoint Car Park, ( short stop for a break), onto Military Rd, Freshwater town, Norton Green, Norton, Yarmouth, Shalfleet, left turn at the PRIMEDRIVE garage, Porchfield, Rew Street, Gurnard, right turn at the top of Solent View Rd., past the Portland Inn, right turn at the Roundhouse roundabout onto Place Rd., Northwood, Medina Way, Coppins Bridge, right turn at St. Georges Way roundabout, Church Litten, Right turn at the lights to MORRISONS car park . From there, to the Square for the 11AM minutes silence.
