We aim to bring together the skiing and fat biking communities to celebrate our favorite time of year. So, grab a teammate and get ready to enjoy a fun, flat course with sunshine, friends, music, food, and some great prizes!
The Ride or Glide is a two-person relay race (no solo entries allowed). Teams can consist of either two skiers or one skier and one fat biker. Each teammate will complete the same flat and fun 9 km loop.
Greens Bar & Grill is sponsoring the race by allowing us to use their venue, providing finger foods for the event, and opening the bar. The awards ceremony and race briefing will take place on the outdoor deck.
The race has two main goals:
1. To enjoy the best skiing and biking conditions of the year while hosting a fun spring race. This event is a celebration and social gathering just as much as it is a competition. We want to ensure that racers and "non-racers" alike are excited to participate!
2. To raise money for the Junior Nationals Scholarship Fund. Each year, several youth skiers from Fairbanks qualify to represent Team Alaska at the Junior National Ski Championships. For junior skiers, making this team is the highlight of their season. Unfortunately, many families find that the excitement of their child reaching this goal is overshadowed by the expense of the trip. All proceeds from the race will go toward the scholarship fund!
Race Day Schedule:
9:30-11am: Bib pick-up and day of registration in Pro Shop
11:15am: Pre-race meeting, on deck of Greens Bar & Grill
11:30am: RACE BEGINS!
12:15pm: Food and beverage service begins
~1:30pm: Awards + Door Prizes on the deck!
