In this class you will learn the basics of brewing kombucha, including primary and secondary fermentation, bottling, batch brewing versus continuous brew, and what to do with your brew when you go on vacation!
We will begin with basic terminology (what exactly is a SCOBY???), review of supplies and ingredients, and then get right to brewing! Discussion will include helpful tips, lessons learned, brewing do’s and don’ts, and lots of recipes, including some ingredients that grow right outside your back door!
In addition to brewing your own batch of kombucha, each participant will bottle and flavor 16oz of mature kombucha for secondary fermentation. Everyone will go home with a gallon jar of freshly brewed kombucha ready to begin fermentation, and one 16oz bottle of mature, flavored kombucha, ready to drink!
All supplies and ingredients will be provided.
