RIBA Somerset: Honeygar - from site to planning, walk and talk
About this Event
Join RIBA Somerset with Somerset Wildlife Trust for a guided walk in the morning, then network and meet your Regional Engagement Partner, Nathalie over refreshments and hear the detail of the Honeygar project from Kate Wotton, Poynton Bradbury Architects and Sarah Jones-Morris, Landscape Architect in the afternoon.
Poynton Bradbury Architects, working alongside Clementine Blakemore Architects, have submitted a planning application for a new research centre at Honeygar Farm for Somerset Wildlife Trust.
This marks the next step in transforming Honeygar into a nationally significant hub for research and teaching focused on restoring lowland peatlands.
Through the creative reuse of existing farm buildings, the scheme will create facilities to support research, learning and collaboration. The design also considers future challenges, including flood risk, food security, and biodiversity loss, ensuring the centre is both functional and resilient.
There will also be plenty of opportunity for discussion, refreshments and to enjoy the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Your ticket includes refreshements.
