Join us on Thursday, February 13th for "Rhythms of Resilience: The Music History of NOLA"—an immersive celebration of New Orleans culture that the whole family will love!

🎷 **Live Jazz Performance
The incredible Patrick Kerssen Trio will transport you straight to the French Quarter with authentic New Orleans jazz!
Doors open at 6:00 PM
🍰 King Cake & Café Du Monde Baking Showdown
Watch local celebrity judges crown the champions in our two delicious categories! Will it be a traditional King Cake dripping in purple, green, and gold? Or a chicory-infused masterpiece dusted in powdered sugar? You'll get to see (and maybe taste!) the results!
🎨 Hands-On Family Activities(The kids are going to LOVE this!)
☂️ Create Your Own Second Line Parasol
Decorate a colorful parasol just like the ones twirled in New Orleans parades! Use ribbons, beads, feathers, and Mardi Gras colors to make your own unique parasol. Take it home as a keepsake or join our mini Second Line parade during the performance!
✨ Make a Mood & Sensory Bottle
Fill a bottle with purple, green, and gold glitter for a calming, mesmerizing sensory experience. Perfect for all ages and sensory-friendly!
🌶️ Mix Your Own Creole Dry Rub
Become a spice master! Kids and adults can blend their own authentic Creole seasoning to take home (with recipe card included). Dinner just got a whole lot more flavorful!
📸 Strike a Pose at Our NOLA Photo Op
Grab some beads, feather boas, and jazz props for a picture-perfect moment! Share your photos and tag us—we want to see your family's NOLA spirit!
🖌️ Add to Our "NOLA Resilience Mural"
What does resilience mean to YOUR family? Write it, draw it, or stamp it on our collaborative community mural that will stay on display at the library!
