After having to sadly cancel this event originally planned for 10 August we are pleased to invite you to join group facilitator Colin Hetherington for our rescheduled Tyne & Wear peer support group event in collaboration with Northern Alliance VIP's now taking place on Saturday 12 October.Please come and join us for a great day filled with fun and laughter where you will get to meet like-minded people and their partners as well as hearing from a range of wonderful speakers; from sight loss charities to scientists and the opportunity to take part in the raffle and plenty of other fun & games.
Colin says “When we meet it’s a happy day full of facts about science, the benefits of guide dogs, what’s on in the North East, anything and everything but most of all it’s about enjoying yourself without anybody judging you. We really do make friends for life.”
Meeting Itinerary:-

- Our very own James Clarke, Events & Community Fundraising Manager, will be talking about fundraising at Retina UK and his own sight loss journey.
- Let’s hear from the amazing Dave Subham to tell us all about his incredible journey. Not to be missed!

- Raffle time!
- Interview with the very talented Gwyneth Boyes, The Blind Baker herself.
- Let’s welcome back our Scientists with the latest information in Genetics and Stem cells.
- Short break.
- The one the only Lewis Shaw is here to tell us what he is now doing and ‘smashing it’.
- Game time – ‘Play Your Cards Right’ £5 a go for a chance to win a talking Air fryer! All proceeds kindly donated to Retina UK.
- Guest speaker, Yvonne Wylie is here to tell us about her trials and tribulations working as a nurse with RP.
